About the Talk
When Telegram was restricted nationwide during the NEET leak issue, countless students suffered the price for a problem they did not cause, serving as a reminder that centralized apps are vulnerable to arbitrary bans and overreach. If a single barrier can shut you off from the people you rely on, do you actually own your communications?
This session will introduce Prav and the wider Fediverse, a federated alternative with no single point of failure. It also sets the stage for the hands-on contribution sprint that takes place on PravCamp Days 1 and 2.
Who Should Attend
Students, developers, and open source enthusiasts are welcome to participate in PravCamp. No prior contributing experience is required.
